Which TVs work with TV Remotely?

TV Remotely supports the smart TV platforms below over your local network. This is a platform-level guide, not a list of physically tested TV models: your model, firmware and phone can affect pairing and the commands available.

Check your TV platform first. Open the TV’s About, Device Information or system settings screen and look for Tizen, webOS, Roku, Android TV, Google TV, VIDAA or SmartCast. Sony, TCL and Hisense need particular care, because one brand name can cover several platforms.

Controls vary by TV model and software version. Pairing may need an on-screen approval, a code, or a setting enabled on the TV, and a listed platform is not a guarantee for every model or firmware version.

How to read the table

Remote covers on-screen navigation and basic controls. Apps means launching TV apps. Media means sending supported photos, videos or links from your phone; it does not promise screen mirroring, protected (DRM) video playback or every format. An amber badge means support varies by model or model year.

A supported platform does not mean every command works on every model. Successful navigation does not confirm that keyboard entry or power-on will work. Screen mirroring uses your phone’s own AirPlay, Cast or Smart View option and is separate from the remote connection; see remote control vs mirroring.

What you need to connect

The TV must be turned on and already connected to your local network. Connect your phone to that network, allow the permissions the app requests and complete the TV’s approval or code. An Ethernet-connected TV can work if it is reachable from the phone’s Wi-Fi network. A phone remote cannot complete a TV’s initial Wi-Fi setup.

Fire TV: TV Remotely connects through developer ADB access, which you enable on the device, and Amazon devices running Vega OS will not connect. That requirement is specific to this app’s integration, not to every Fire TV remote. If you prefer not to enable developer access, use another control method. Never expose ADB to the internet. See the Fire TV remote guide and how to enable ADB debugging.

Vizio SmartCast: pair using the PIN the TV shows on screen. App launching varies by model. See the Vizio TV remote guide.

What if a listed TV does not work?

Follow the TV discovery checklist if it does not appear. If it pairs but one command fails, report the model, firmware, app version and failing command to support.

Does TV Remotely support Apple TV or non-smart TVs?

Neither is in the supported list. A non-smart TV has no network control for a Wi-Fi remote to use. And a streaming device plugged into a TV is controlled as that device, not as the television; it does not give the app every function of the TV itself.
