Apple TV Remote pairing on iPhone: official method and limits
Apple provides an official Apple TV Remote in iPhone and iPad Control Center for Apple TV HD, Apple TV 4K and some AirPlay-compatible TVs. TV Remotely’s Apple TV support is unverified in this project, so use Apple’s documented path when you need reliable pairing.

Choose the official remote path
Open Control Center on the iPhone or iPad and select Apple TV Remote. Apple says you may need to add it as a control first. Select the Apple TV or supported smart TV, then enter the four-digit on-screen code if asked.
The phone and Apple TV must be on the same Wi-Fi network for setup; some AirPlay TVs require Home app configuration first.
Know what device is being controlled
Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD are set-top boxes, not a software mode on every television. An AirPlay-compatible smart TV can expose a different control scope. Apple says iPhone volume buttons work with supported audio/video receivers or certain speaker setups; otherwise use the TV’s own remote for volume.
Do not infer full TV input or power control from successful Apple TV menu navigation.
If pairing fails
Check the same-network condition and update iOS/iPadOS and tvOS, as Apple recommends. Restart the devices once before trying another code. Keep the physical remote available for setup or account prompts.
This article describes Apple’s official remote. TV Remotely should not advertise Apple TV pairing until its own provider passes a real hardware test.
