Explainers & comparisons

Which Panasonic TV platform do you have?

Panasonic TVs span more than one software generation. Panasonic support lists 2024 and newer Viera Fire TV series, while older Viera sets use different home-screen software. Identify the full model before choosing a remote app or an Android-based customization guide.

Start with the model number

Read the model code on the TV label or in settings. Panasonic’s Fire TV support pages list TV-prefixed Viera models and their Fire OS firmware. An older TH-prefixed Viera can have a different home experience. Model prefixes are a clue, not a substitute for the actual About screen.

Separate Fire TV from earlier Viera software

Panasonic lists 2024–26 Viera Fire TV series and firmware updates that changed the Fire TV home interface in 2026. Earlier Viera home screens are documented separately. The menus, app support and remote-control methods differ.

Do not apply Fire OS ADB or Claude Code instructions to a Panasonic model unless its software is confirmed as compatible Fire OS.

Choose the control route

If the TV is a Fire TV model, follow the Fire OS-specific guide and its authorization requirements. If it uses another Panasonic platform, consult the model manual and supported companion app. Keep the physical remote for initial network setup and approval.

Include model, firmware and software platform in a support request to avoid an answer for the wrong generation.
