Troubleshooting
Roku streaming player will not power on? Read its status light first
A Roku streaming player’s status light can narrow the problem: Roku says no light may mean no power, a white light with no picture can mean the player is on but the TV input is wrong, solid red indicates overheating, and flashing red means insufficient power.

Interpret the Roku player light
These light meanings are for Roku streaming players, not Roku TVs or other Roku models. Check your player’s manual if its indicator differs.
With no light, reseat the power cable and use the included adapter in a known-working wall outlet.
This checks power delivery first.
If that does not help: Try another outlet and remove the power strip from the test.
With a white light but no picture, verify the TV is on the HDMI input used by the Roku.
The player may be powered even when the TV shows no picture.
If that does not help: Reseat HDMI and test another input.
With a solid red light, unplug the player and let it cool before reconnecting.
Roku identifies solid red as an overheating condition.
If that does not help: Move it to an open, ventilated position and contact support if it quickly overheats again.
With a flashing red light or low-power warning, use the supplied adapter rather than TV USB power.
Roku says flashing red indicates insufficient power; some TV USB ports cannot supply enough.
If that does not help: Use the model’s required wall adapter; do not infer the needed adapter from another model.
When the light does not return
If the Roku still shows no light from a known-working outlet with its correct adapter, the adapter or player may need service. Avoid opening the device or using an unverified power supply. Keep the model name, indicator state, and power source details for Roku Support.
What to do next
Use the Roku player’s status light and correct adapter to distinguish input, heat, and power symptoms.
