Explainers & comparisons
Which TVs can Claude Code customize?
Check the software platform in your TV’s About screen before using a Claude Code TV guide. The same brand can ship Android or Google TV, Roku TV, Fire TV, VIDAA, Tizen or webOS, and those systems expose different controls.

Find the operating system, not just the badge
Record the exact model, software version and the name shown under Settings or About. If the screen says Google TV or Android TV, Android developer tooling may be available. A Roku-branded interface points to Roku OS; a Hisense set can instead be VIDAA or another platform.
If the About screen does not identify the OS, search the official support page for the exact model number rather than guessing from the remote shape.
What the platform usually permits
Android/Google TV can support ADB and app-package inspection after local authorization. Fire OS is Android-derived but has its own restrictions and scripts. Roku ECP provides local control commands, not Android package management. Samsung Tizen and LG webOS expose different developer systems and do not run Android ADB.
Availability still depends on model, firmware, account permissions and whether the developer option is present.
Before following a device report
Treat public model reports as examples. Compare the full model suffix and software version, then check whether the report preserves inputs, casting and the remote. Save a restore path before touching Home or a system package.
A matching brand with a different OS belongs in another guide.
