Reset a forgotten Child PIN on Fire TV

When Fire TV asks for the Child PIN and an attempted PIN is incorrect, Amazon displays a reset code below the prompt. Open amazon.com/code (or the address displayed by your regional Fire TV), sign in with the linked Amazon account, enter the reset code and choose Continue. Follow the prompts to set a new Child PIN.

1. When prompted for the Child PIN, try your PIN. If it is incorrect, use the reset code shown beneath the prompt.

   Amazon’s help flow uses the on-screen code to identify the device.

   If that does not help: Do not share the code publicly; it is part of the account recovery process.

2. Open the recovery page shown on the Fire TV and sign in to the linked Amazon account.

   The account flow verifies access before allowing a new PIN.

   If that does not help: If the account is not the one linked to the device, switch to the correct account or use Amazon account recovery.

3. Enter the displayed code and follow the prompts to create a new Child PIN.

   You can then return to the child profile and retry access.

   If that does not help: If the code expires or is rejected, generate a fresh code from the TV and follow the current screen instructions.

The Child PIN keeps children from leaving their child profile. Fire TV Parental Controls is a separate restriction system. If the prompt concerns a purchase or a general parental restriction, follow Amazon’s instructions for that PIN instead.

Recover the Child PIN with the on-screen Amazon account code; do not confuse it with Parental Controls PIN.

Is a Fire TV Child PIN the same as the Parental Controls PIN?

No. Amazon provides separate controls. The Child PIN keeps children within their profiles; use the recovery flow for the prompt shown on your TV.
