Troubleshooting
Fire TV Ambient Experience starts automatically? Change its timer
On compatible Fire TVs, Ambient Experience can appear after inactivity because it replaces the default screensaver after screensaver advertisements. That behavior is different from the TV powering off. Amazon’s Ambient controls and availability vary by device.

Identify Ambient mode versus sleep
On supported Fire TV devices, Settings > Display & Sounds > Ambient Experience opens the feature. If that option is absent, the device may not support it.
To leave Ambient now, press Home.
Fire TV returns to its home interface.
If that does not help: If the television has actually powered off, troubleshoot its power/timer instead.
Open Settings > Display & Sounds > Ambient Experience > Ambient Preferences > Advanced Settings > Ambient Experience Start.
Choose the inactive interval before Ambient launches.
If that does not help: On the Ambient screen, you can also press Menu > Ambient Preferences > Advanced Settings.
To stop using the feature, turn it off from Settings > Display & Sounds > Ambient Experience.
Amazon documents this setting as the disable route.
If that does not help: Check Alexa routines if a schedule is still launching it.
Ambient Experience Timeout is model-dependent: Amazon specifically identifies it for Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Generation). Do not assume that option exists on every Fire TV.
Check device support before looking for a toggle
Amazon’s help distinguishes Fire TV devices and the newer Fire TV Smart TV experience. Not every stick, player, or older Fire TV has Ambient Experience. If the Ambient tile or related setting is missing, consult the exact device help rather than applying a Smart TV-only menu path.
What to do next
Check whether the device supports Ambient Experience and its idle schedule before changing the TV sleep timer.
