Back up your TV settings before customization
Before Android TV cleanup, record enough state to undo each change. A list of installed packages by itself is not a full TV backup: save which apps were enabled, which Home component was active, the software build, and the settings you plan to touch.

Record the device identity
Copy the full TV model, Android version, build number and current home-screen choice. Photograph only non-sensitive screens or write down the values; do not publish serial numbers, Wi-Fi names, account names or ADB keys.
A restore plan is only useful if it matches the same firmware and the same state before a change.
Save package and setting state
The Clean Your TV project records package enabled states, Home ownership and animation settings before its disable workflow. If you use a tool, inspect where it writes its backup and keep a local copy of the applied list. Note any switches you change in the TV interface as well.
Do not assume Android’s old adb backup command can capture a complete modern TV system; the project’s record is a change log, not a full image of the device.
Rehearse recovery before changing Home
Confirm you can still enter TV Settings with a physical remote and that the project restore tool supports your model and software. Keep the original launcher available until recovery is proven. If you cannot identify the current Home owner or a path back, postpone the change.
After a safe, approved test, compare the saved state and confirm casting, inputs and the phone remote still work.
