Replace an Android TV home screen safely
A third-party launcher may work on a compatible Android or Google TV, but Home selection differs across firmware. A screen that looks correct once can fail after reboot or take away a remote shortcut, input panel or saved Wi-Fi.

Check prerequisites
Confirm Android/Google TV software and the launcher’s minimum Android version. Record the stock Home owner, app settings access and the full restore procedure before trying any alternate Home. Keep the original physical remote available.
Do not use a model report from a different TV or Android build as proof of compatibility.
Use a guarded project workflow
The Clean Your TV project documents a launcher installation flow that checks Home ownership and writes a restore record. Its model catalog shows that a setup component can own saved Wi-Fi on some Google TV builds. Review all planned actions and stop if the existing launcher or setup dependencies cannot be identified.
A generic set-home-activity command is not a reliable replacement plan across TV builds.
Test more than the home screen
After a change on a verified model, test Home after a reboot, Settings access, input selection, casting, the physical remote and phone remote. If any fail, use the saved project restore procedure before trying another change.
Use the project’s current compatibility and restore instructions for your exact device. If the stock Home owner or recovery route is unclear, keep the original launcher and use the TV’s built-in display and app controls.
