Samsung TV ad and privacy settings

Samsung TV privacy settings let you review choices about viewing information and personalized features on a supported Tizen set. The exact labels depend on model year and region; Samsung says its optional Viewing Information Services uses automatic content recognition when enabled.

Find your model and current choices

Record the full model code and software version from About This TV. Open the TV’s privacy or terms screen and read the on-screen description of each choice before changing it. Samsung’s current support page explains that Viewing Information Services is optional on supported Smart TVs; availability and paths vary.

Do not confuse a TV-side viewing choice with an app’s own data settings. Netflix, YouTube and other services have separate accounts and privacy controls.

Review viewing and ad choices

If Viewing Information Services is enabled, Samsung describes its ACR process as recognizing viewed content to support features. Decide whether you want that optional service, then record the old value before changing it. Also inspect any personalized advertising choices presented on your model.

Turning off a particular choice affects that stated data use; it does not promise to remove every promotion from the Samsung home screen.

Verify without a factory reset

Reopen the privacy screen to confirm the saved values and test the features you use, including recommendations and voice features if enabled. If a function changes unexpectedly, restore the recorded setting first.

Use the current Samsung documentation for the full model rather than a hidden menu or an Android TV cleanup guide.
